Unlike the Met Gala, which she hasn’t attended since 2016, Taylor Swift is usually a mainstay at the Grammys. So will she be at the 2026 Grammy Awards? Probably not, actually, and here’s why.
Reason number one is that, for once, Swift is not nominated for any Grammy in 2026—but it’s not a snub. Even though Swift released Life of a Showgirl in 2025, the album came out in October and the eligibility period for the 2026 Grammys was only through August 30, 2025, per Vulture. So, Swift couldn’t be nominated for any awards this year. Swifties shouldn’t worry, though, as Life of a Showgirl will be eligible for nominations at next year’s awards.
Still, even though she wasn’t nominated, there was a rumor that Swift was going to be making some sort of special appearance or even performing. However, that possibility was (seemingly) shot down by Grammys executive producer Ben Winston in an interview with Hits Daily Double. “The only reason people think Taylor might be performing or coming is because Hits decided to print it this week and put it in their Hits List, and it was picked up globally,” Winston said. “But Hits just totally made that up. And now I am getting asked about it by you, as if it’s a real thing, when it was made up in your office! That really is a full-circle rumor!”
Without any other reason to suspect that Taylor Swift could make a surprise appearance, it seems fairly safe to assume that she will not be at the Grammys in 2026. However, 2027 will probably be a different story.
In 2025, Swift was nominated for six Grammys but did not end up taking home any wins. Not that this stopped her from having the best time ever, as usual. We have no doubt she’ll be back to her aisle-dancing, lip-syncing ways next year.
