Saweetie may primarily be known as the artist behind hit songs like “My Type,” “Tap In,” and “Best Friend,” but the rapper is heralded as a beauty and style icon too—so much so that she always factors this in when considering collaborations.
“I'm known for my aesthetics, which is the first thing I think of when it comes to my brand partnerships,” Saweetie tells Glamour. That played a large part in her decision to partner with self-care essentials brand Athena Club. “We were able to merge our brands in such a fun way,” she says. “There were just so many different vibes.”
A skin care and self-care project might seem unexpected for the rapper who famously partnered with McDonald’s. (Who could forget the Saweetie Meal?) But really, it couldn’t make more sense: A self-proclaimed skin care maximalist, Saweetie takes great pride in her morning and evening regimens for both skin and self.
“It takes me about an hour to get ready for bed every night,” Saweetie says. “My mom bought me my own skin tool kit, so I get caught up in cleaning my skin every night. I love doing that.”
In fact, when asked if she sees a facialist or a dermatologist, the artist quips: “I’m the facialist and the dermatologist.” Considering that, her partnership with Athena Club is a match made in heaven.
Launching today, August 31, Saweetie’s Athena Club campaign—which was beautifully captured by Adrienne Raquel and styled by Ashley Furnival—features an exclusive limited-edition set that includes the Gentle Sugar Scrub, Creamy Body Wash, and Dewy Body Lotion.
“My favorite thing is definitely the body wash, and the body scrub smells delicious,” Saweetie says, though she’s particularly fond of the razor's design too. “A razor is a real personal product, so I like to make sure it’s kept in a nice, clean space. I love that this comes with its own prop-up tool."
As for Saweetie’s ride-or-die, desert-island beauty product overall? “I’d bring lip gloss,” she says without a second thought. “You can use it for lotion, lips, eye shadow, sunblock….just kidding!”
What’s not a joke, however, is how seriously Saweetie takes skin care. Ahead, the rapper shares her favorite lip gloss as well as other must-have skin and self-care products for Glamour’s Drop the Routine.
My cleanser
I get caught up in cleaning my skin every night. I love doing that. After that, I wash my face. I normally use a foam wash and then a scrub. I use Barbara Sturm.

My toner
Then I use a toner. I like using Ole Henriksen and Tatcha.
My serums
For serums, I use vitamin C by Ole Henriksen and Glow Recipe watermelon drops. It looks like a perfume bottle but it’s a watermelon serum.
My moisturizers
I love a good night cream. I love the Indigo Overnight Repair Cream by Tatcha and like the Barbara Sturm cream as well. I like to use a variety.
My shower care
I love the Athena Club body wash, and the body scrub smells delicious. And since a razor is a real personal product, I like to make sure it’s kept in a nice, clean space. I love that that Athena Club’s razor comes with its own prop-up tool.
My body lotion
I always apply my Athena Club body lotion before bed, especially to my feet. It definitely calms me down, but I really just like to feel clean before I get into my sheets. I more so strive for the cleanliness of the clean feeling, but it is calming as well. I just want that clean feeling, girl.
My lip gloss
