Curls are coming undone on the Grammys red carpet—in a good way. Loose, romantic waves dominated 2026 Grammys hair trends, and this celebrity-loved style is so easy to copy. Consider this your sign to dust off your curling iron and treat yourself to a new texture spray.
While awards season kicked off with some high-level hair trends (see: the parade of expertly sculpted Old Hollywood bobs at the Golden Globes), music’s biggest night ushered in a softer wave for spring. Some of our favorite stars took a page from Margot Robbie’s Wuthering Heights look book, embracing cascading length, natural-looking texture, and even crimped effects.
Sabrina Carpenter’s loosely pinned updo (which left her curtain bangs and face-framing layers undone, in true Bridgerton style) was pure romance. Celebrity stylist Evanie Frausto created her look using Redken. His pro tip: “I need to add grit before structure so before I gather anything, I go in with Redken Dry Texture Finishing Spray. This is what gives me that airy separation that looks expensive. I spray, comb with my fingers, and let the hair expand, giving it life.”
The singer also took a softer approach with her glam, trading her usual babydoll blush and statement eye makeup for cloud lips, frosted highlighter, and natural-looking lashes.
Glamour Woman of the Year Tyla followed suit with a partial updo courtesy of stylist Ahmad Christopher, hers featuring long, face-framing waves on one side and a loosely curled ponytail.
Olivia Dean’s voluminous waves have become both a beauty staple and a performance element. The Best New Artist winner wore her long S-shaped curls down, allowing for maximum bounce and movement. To perfect her look, stylist Rachel Polycarpe used Tangle Teezer’s Ultimate Detangler Naturally Curly to minimize breakage and evenly distribute product, then brushed out Dean’s curls using the Ultimate Detangler Chrome for a full-bodied finish.
Rosé gave the vintage-bob trend a romantic spin: Rather than the intricate Marcel-wave pattern seen recently on Selena Gomez and Ayo Edebiri, her stylist added a soft variation in shape and direction to her cloud of creamy platinum curls.
You heard it here first: Mermaid waves are so back. Zara Larsson combined the romantic-waves trend with major length, opting for a beachy, crimped texture over movie star curls. To get the look, celebrity hairstylist John Novotny says that he rough-dried her hair using the Wavytalk Turblow Pro and a bristle brush, “focusing on adding volume at the crown and softly lifting around the hairline.” Once dry, he styled each section with the Power Wave, “tilting the iron in the opposite direction each time with a slight slant to create a tousled finish—effortless waves that look like they were styled by the wind.”
Karol G also opted for the crimped effect. To DIY this style, sleep in slightly damp French braids, then refine your waves’ shape with a styling cream to add weight and definition.
And while lots of musicians wore fairy tale-coded romance waves, Coco Jones reminded us how well they work with a blunt lob—one of the year’s trendiest cuts. Celebrity stylist Davontae’ Washington says he used the brand new SheaMoisture Silk Press in a Bottle Prep Cream with the Dyson Supersonic r (specifically the Styling Concentrator and Diffuser attachment) to create “a modern wet look that feels fluid, effortless, and controlled.”
Feeling inspired? You’re in luck: Romance waves are about to be everywhere, and as the breakout 2026 Grammys hair trend proved, they can be styled to perfection on just about any length or texture.
